Ingredients

1 1/2 c
sugar
1/2 c
crisco
1/2 tsp
salt
2
eggs
1 tsp
vanilla
3 c
flour
1/2 tsp
baking soda
1/2 c
warm water
4
large bananas
1 c
crushed nuts if desired

How to Make Banana Bread

Step-by-Step

  • 1Cream sugar, salt and Crisco in medium mixing bowl. Add eggs and beat well. Dissolve baking soda in the warm water and add to mixture. Add vanilla.
  • 2Mash bananas in skins and chop nuts. Add to mixture, beating lightly. Slowly add flour and beat thoroughly.
  • 3Bake in loaf pan at 350 degrees for 1 hour or until done. Mini loaf pans will be done in less than 1 hour.
