This is the very first hummus recipe I used and it came from my favorite coop called New Leaf Market. After seeing how easy & yummy it was, I was hooked!

Ingredients

15 oz
chick peas, drained but save juice
2 Tbsp
lemon juice
1 1/2 Tbsp
tahini
1 tsp
sea salt
1 dash(es)
cayenne pepper
1 clove
garlic
1 tsp
oil
1 Tbsp
chopped fresh parsley

How to Make Simple Hummus

Step-by-Step

  • 1In food processor put garlic and process until chopped fine. Add rest of ingredients including 2 - 3 tablespoons (or more if needed) of the chick pea liquid and process until smooth. Serve with pita chips or fresh vegetables. Enjoy!
  • 2This makes approximately 2 cups
  • 3The original recipe calls for olive oil, but another oil can be substituted, or the oil can be eliminated completely. Dried parsley can be substituted for the fresh if necessary.
