We always get guacamole when we go to a Mexican restaurant. I decided to make guacamole at home. I found a number of recipes, studied them, and put together my own recipe. After tweaking it, this is what I came up with. My wife says this is absolutely the best guacamole she has ever eaten. Hope you like it too. We like to use this as a spread on sandwiches and hot dogs. Yum.

Ingredients

  • 2 - firm ripe avocados, halved, pitted, and peeled
  • 2 tablespoons minced onion
  • 2 tablespoons chopped cilantro, leaves and stems
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon fresh lime juice
  • 1 pinch cayenne pepper
  • - kosher salt, to taste
  • - tortilla chips, for dipping

How To Make guacamole my way

  • Step 1
    Coarsely mash the avocados in a medium bowl.
  • Step 2
    Lightly mix in the onion, cilantro, garlic, cumin, lime juice, and cayenne pepper.
  • Step 3
    Season the guacamole liberally with salt, to taste.
