We always get guacamole when we go to a Mexican restaurant. I decided to make guacamole at home. I found a number of recipes, studied them, and put together my own recipe. After tweaking it, this is what I came up with. My wife says this is absolutely the best guacamole she has ever eaten. Hope you like it too.

We like to use this as a spread on sandwiches and hot dogs. Yum.

Ingredients

  • 2
    firm ripe avocados, halved, pitted, and peeled
  • 2 Tbsp
    minced onion
  • 2 Tbsp
    chopped cilantro, leaves and stems
  • 1 clove
    garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp
    cumin
  • 1 tsp
    fresh lime juice
  • 1 pinch
    cayenne pepper
  • ·
    kosher salt, to taste
  • ·
    tortilla chips, for dipping

How to Make Guacamole My Way

Step-by-Step

  1. Coarsely mash the avocados in a medium bowl.
  2. Lightly mix in the onion, cilantro, garlic, cumin, lime juice, and cayenne pepper.
  3. Season the guacamole liberally with salt, to taste.
