Here It Is! My Father's Day Cake. I Poked Small Holes As Said, But The Butter Sauce Did't Go In As Much As I Thought It Would. Someone Says Use A Wooden Spoon?

Using a tube pan (Angel Food Cake pan) is the best way to get sauce in all the right places. You do NOT grease anything but the bottom of the pan, then run a knife around the edge & stem before pouring on sauce, shich leaves a great surface for absorbing the sauce. This cake has been ouf family favorite through raising all my kids & now grand kids - got the recipe from a girl in high school about 35 years ago! (One more tip from the original recipe - Do NOT boil the sauce - it should still be grainy - just heat til the butter melts)

It sounded so yummy, my mouth started watering just reading the ingredients to the sauce! Can't wait to try it for real and hear all the rants and raves.

looks great Maria! if we're poking holes in a bundt cake before inverting as per recipe, the end of a wooden spoon would work out well. all of the pic's are so inviting, can't wait to bake this cake!

I have made a few different "poke holes" cakes. A pencil always works for me, not too big, not too small.
