That sounds like a great idea, to give your boyfriend a hint of what you want. Paula you & I are more alike than you know, I don't like for my husband to spend all that money on flowers either. I either prefers that he buys me silk flours so I can use them interchangeably through out the year, or get me something I can use in the kitchen. I didn't know that there were other wemon that thought like that except me. smile

Yes I do understand Paula, I do not skimp when it comes to the EXTRACTS, IT JUST DOES NOT WORK FOR ME. We both feel the same way about value, and that is good. smile. If you are going to get the same results, why spend the extra cash.

Yes Paula, Evaporated milk is what I ALWAYS USE because that too is what my mother always used. I have heard that you can use whipping cream or half and half, but I have never used either, I am sure they both would work, but the evaporated milk is a lot cheeper than either of those. I guess that is why my mom always used evaporated milk, because there were so many of us, and it was a lot cheeper to use.

I am sure you would still get the creamy texture especially using heavy whipping cream, but it would just cost you a lot more to get the same results using evaporated milk. I usually buy the generic version of evaporated milk, I don't get the name brand, I still get the same results in my opinion. So if the RESULTS ARE THE SAME, WHY PAY THE EXTRA MONEY.SMILE.

Thanks for your comments Paula, all the different versions sound good. But since I am from the South originally, I learned to make Mac & Cheese using eggs, my mother always used eggs in hers as well.

This was a version I created because I was out of cheddar cheese, I used the cream cheese, because I wanted it to be creamy, and it really worked. The depth of flavor in this recipe from the SHREDDED PARMESAN is very prominent, and you can see how creamy and cheesy it is. Thanks again for your comments. Normally I make it using Super Sharp Cheddar along with mild cheddar, and sometimes a little mozzarella, and I add american on top sometimes also, but I opted to add a crunchy crust on top with the panko, and it was great.

This Looks Very Creamy... I Make a Mac and Cheese and I top mine with Italian Bread Crumbs,I also add Bacon to Mine, My Sister makes a Mac&Cheese and Everyone Loves her's another sister seen her put some eggs in hers, I don't put eggs in mine. Mine is Very Flavorfull Just Lacks the Creamy Texture??.. Maybe this is where I'm going Wrong??...
