Rose I am so happy to see and hear that this worked out for you by changing the power levels of your microwave, and it sure does look amazing. I know it tasted good too. It has the perfect color variation. MICROWAVES LIKE OVENS VARY IN COOKING LEVELS BASED ON THE BRAND WATTAGE, AND EVEN SOMETIMES THE OUTDOOR TEMPERATURE. i HAVE NEVER HAD TO ADJUST THE LEVEL ON MY MICROWAVE to make this recipe, BUT i WILL ADD THIS NOTE TO THE RECIPE NOW. THANKS AGAIN FOR SHOWING ME YOUR AMAZING PICTURES.

This is a picture of the Black Walnut Brittle and the peanut Brittle I made on the same day after you stated that yours burned. Note the Black Walnut Brittle is a bit darker in color than the Peanut Brittle. It was very good. But I hurried and packed it and mailed it to my Brother in Arkansas so I wouldn't eat it all. smile My husband does not care for any type of brittle or hard candy. I am so happy to hear that you achieved the results you were looking for.
