I'm a blissfully retired librarian with a loving hubby and an old cat. I like to cook and eat but I also like to find lazy, fool-proof methods for cooking. For example, I haven't boiled brown rice since I found Alton Brown's oven method. I try to keep Harvard School of Public Health's "Healthy Eating Plate" in mind when I cook but I love cheese too much to be a full adherent.
Most of my cooking is "frugal" and "from scratch" because it's fun and, well, how else can we afford to be retired? I was quite active on Just-a-Pinch a few years ago and now am back to add and update recipes.
