This old fashion vegetable soup recipe has been in our family for eons. No one knows where or how it orginated. The recipe takes time to prepare, but, believe me, it's totally worth it. The soup is even better the second day after the ingredients "marry".

Ingredients
- 2 - soup bones
- 2 pounds stewing beef
- 4 - onions, chopped
- 3 - potatoes, chopped
- 3 - carrots, chopped
- 1/2 - head of cabbage, shredded
- 1 - turnip, chopped
- 1 - large stalk of celery, chopped
- 1 tablespoon parsley
- 1 can whole tomatoes, squashed
- - salt and pepper to taste
- - enough water to cover all

Step 1Roll boil soup bone, stewing beef, 1 large onion, and water for 2 1/2 hours

Step 2Remove soup bones but leave in any marrow. Add potatoes, carrots, rest of onions, cabbage, turnip, celery, parsley, tomatoes, salt & pepper.

Step 3Slow boil for 2 hours.

Step 4Better the second day.
