Ingredients

  • 2 pounds beef chuck, boneless diced
  • 1/4 pound margerine
  • 2 - 16 oz can tomatoes
  • 11/2 pounds fresh okra or frozen
  • 2 cups canned lima beans
  • 1 pound cured ham, cooked and diced
  • - salt and pepper to taste

How To Make okra soup

  • Step 1
    in a deep pot,brown beef chuck in margarine. add tomatoes and okra. in boiling water cover and simmer for 1 hour. then add a additional 4 cupsboiling water bring to a boil and simmer stirring freqyuantly for 30 min, skim soup as it boils. cook until okra and tomatoes are done. add cooked lima beans and ham and salt and pepper to taste then serve.
