sour kraut soup
This is an old Amish recipe that I have changed a bit over the years. It is amazing! Great served with seedless rye or pumpernickel bread. Hope you enjoy.

Ingredients
- 2 pounds fresh kielbasa
- 2 cans the large ones sour kraut
- 1 quart half and half
- 1 pint heavy cream
- 1 stick real butter
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- SALT AND PEPPER TO TASTE.
How To Make sour kraut soup

Step 1Add fresh kielbasa and and about a 1/2 cup of water to heavy soup pot or dutch oven. Cover and simmer till mostly cooked. Remove lid and brown meat.

Step 2Remove meat from pot. Cut in bite size pieces. Add the juice from the cans of sour kraut. bring to a simmer to get the bits from the bottom of pan.

Step 3Add the sour kraut, cut kielbasa, half and half, cream, butter, paprika, salt and pepper.

Step 4simmer on low till slightly thickened.
