creamy potato chowder
This dish is a thick, hearty dish. My families favorite dish on snow days. Great for winter potluck or fund raisers as well. Can also be done in a slow cooker so your dinner will be ready when you are.

Ingredients
- 4-10 large potatoes, russets
- 16 ounces desired meat, optional (chicken, turkey, ham) cubed
- 1/2 gallon milk, low-fat
- 1 stick butter, cold
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 3 tablespoons onion powder
- 1 sprig thyme
- 5 cloves garlic, chopped
- 3 tablespoons garlic powder
- 1-3 sprig bay leaves
- 1 small bag frozen corn
- 1 small bag frozen carrots
- - salt & pepper to taste
How To Make creamy potato chowder

Step 1peel an cut desired amount of potatoes

Step 2in a large pot, heat milk on medium heat

Step 3cube desired meat. you can skip this step if you do not want any meat in it.

Step 4add butter and all spices, stir til butter is melted

Step 5add potatoes and meat, let cook on low heat, covered for 30 mins. stirring occasionally so as not to burn milk

Step 6add veggies, stir and let simmer another 30 mins covered, or until all ingredients are tender enough to cut with a spoon. stir every so often.

Step 7optional toppings or garnish: shredded cheese, celery stalk, salad topper, crunchy chow mein noodles, or any other topping you might like.
