spicy sausage potato tomato soup

I actually combind a sausage my sister makes and my own. It's a twin thing, I guess! My Family (16 yr. old & Husband)took 2nd helpings..I also had 2nds!!

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground sausage
  • 4 medium potatoes,peeled, cubed
  • 1 small yellow onion,chopped
  • 2 cans diced tomatoes,15oz . do not drain
  • 2 cans kidney beans,lightly drained
  • 1 can black beans,lightly drained
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder with parsley
  • 1 teaspoon oregano, dried

How To Make spicy sausage potato tomato soup

  • Step 1
    In a Dutch Oven,brown Sausage on med. /high heat, until no longer pink. Cut and Add chopped onion. Stir. Open Cans and add to Dutch Oven. Using your now empty cans,fill each can with water,pour into pot. Reduce Heat. Simmer.
  • Step 2
    Peel and Dice Potatoes. Add to simmering pot. Add seasonings. stir. Simmer until potatoes are soft. Serve with Crusted, Cut Baguette and/or green salad! My son put Shredded Cheese on his portion!
