I have been searching for low sodium soups and came up with this one with the help of my sister. I was so hungry fir it, forgot to snap a picture, but will the next time I make some

yield 1 large bowl

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons reduced calorie margarine, or unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon prepared minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon each dried basil, mrs dash
  • 2 tablespoons all purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups low sodium tomato juice
  • 1 cup skim evaporated, or regular skim milk
  • dash black pepper

How To Make low sodium tomato soup

  • Step 1
    In a medium saucepan melt margarine, and add garlic and herbs
  • Step 2
    sautee over medium heat for 1 minute
  • Step 3
    slowly stir in flour, to make a rue
  • Step 4
    slowly add tomato juice , stirring constantly, boiling until it thickens
  • Step 5
    stir in milk and heat thru, adding pepper to your own taste
  • Step 6
    Calories : 400 Sodium: 475 this is my calculations using a regular soft margarine. I have calculated as best as I could with the nutrition facts on packaging
