Ingredients

  • 2 Tbsp
    reduced calorie margarine, or unsalted butter
  • 1 tsp
    prepared minced garlic
  • 1 tsp
    each dried basil, mrs dash
  • 2 Tbsp
    all purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 c
    low sodium tomato juice
  • 1 c
    skim evaporated, or regular skim milk
  • dash(es)
    black pepper

How to Make Low Sodium Tomato Soup

Step-by-Step

  1. In a medium saucepan melt margarine, and add garlic and herbs
  2. sautee over medium heat for 1 minute
  3. slowly stir in flour, to make a rue
  4. slowly add tomato juice , stirring constantly, boiling until it thickens
  5. stir in milk and heat thru, adding pepper to your own taste
  6. Calories : 400
    Sodium: 475

    this is my calculations using a regular soft margarine. I have calculated as best as I could with the nutrition facts on packaging
