creamy spicy lentil soup

When I became aware of the nutritional value of spices I began using them. There's a variety of ways to make lentils so during my experimentation I came up with this wonderful tasting soup that's a favorite. Hope you agree and gain as many compliments on it as I have.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup lentils, dry
  • 2 - carrots
  • 2 - onions- 1 yellow, 1 white.
  • 1 can tomato soup
  • 1 teaspoon oregano, dried,
  • 2 tablespoons chicken bouillon
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin, paprika, parsley, basil, dried seasonings.
  • 2 - packets of crushed red pepper
  • 3/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 cup half n half
  • 3 - segments of garlic
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 - red pepper
  • LADLE MORE HALF N HALF AS DESIRED IN EACH SERVING TO COOL THE BURN.

How To Make creamy spicy lentil soup

  • Step 1
    Fill stainless steel pot with water, then bring to a boil. Add lentils. Reduce heat to medium to cook.
  • Step 2
    Dice onions, red pepper & carrots, add to lentils.
  • Step 3
    Peel then Crush garlic segments. Then add to lentils & vegetables.
  • Step 4
    Permeate with spices. Cooking until finished. Very important step: Add tomato soup cooking on low heat and stirring often preventing sticking to bottom of pot.
  • Step 5
    Cook & stir on Low heat until desired consistency 10-15 minutes.
  • Step 6
    Then serve into individual bowls. Offering half n half in a circular motion thus preventing a grey appearance. Provide a thick crusted bread as a side.
