1-2 galprepared popcorn with kernels removed
2 cbrown sugar, firmly packed
1 cbutter (cut up)
1/2 ccorn syrup, light
1/2 tspbaking soda
1 cpeanuts (optional)
How to Make Caramel popcorn
- Popcorn is in a large (heat proof) bowl. Lightly grease two large cookie sheets, or one large turkey roaster.( I use the turkey roaster) Set aside. Heat oven 250 degrees.
- In a medium sized saucepan add to it the butter, brown sugar and corn syrup. Stir well. Bring to a boil over medium low heat. Stop stirring and boil it slowly for 5 minutes.
- Remove from heat and add the baking soda, salt, vanilla and the peanuts. Pour over the popcorn and being careful not to burn yourself toss it well.
- Pour the popcorn mixture into the prepared pans or pan. Bake for 1 hour making sure to stir every 20 minutes. Cool and store in ziplock bags or covered tins.
