peanut butter oat protein snack

I modified another recipe from this site, this is the first time I am trying these.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup oatmeal, uncooked
  • 1/2 cup oat bran uncooked
  • 1/4 cup ground flaxseed
  • 1 cup peanut butter, creamy
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup almonds, chopped
  • dash almond or vanilla extract
  • 1 scoop chocolate whey protein powder

How To Make peanut butter oat protein snack

  • Step 1
    Combine oatmeal, flaxseed, protein powder and oat bran in a mixing bowl.
  • Step 2
    In a separate bowl combine peanut butter and honey, in a microwave safe bowl, melt for 30 seconds then stir to mix together. Add to bowl with dry ingredients. Mix, it will be crumbly.
  • Step 3
    Add almonds, almond extract, and chocolate chips, mix together forming a large ball in the bowl, place in refrigerator and chill for 30 minutes.
  • Step 4
    After 30 minutes, remove from refrigerator and roll into individual balls, freeze and enjoy. Or Press onto cookie sheet and freeze or chill then cut into squares and enjoy.
