    bay english muffins,split,lightly toasted
  • 1
    1/2 can chickpeas,drained and rinsed (save remaining chick peas for a evening salad)
  • 1
    pinch garlic powder
  • 1/2
    small ripe tomato ,with seeds out
  • 6
    fresh basil leaves,may leave out
  • 3
    tablespoons water
  • 3
    tablespoons olive
  • 1
    pinch salt and black pepper
  • 4
    dashes hot sauce i use crystal hot sauce for this

How to Make Spicy Basil Tomato Hummus


  1. Dice fresh tomato
  2. Tear basil leaves
  3. Except Olive oil** put all in food processor and pulse
  4. Add olive oil little at a time on full speed till smooth.
  5. Put in a small bowl take a teaspoon and spread on 1/2 each,toasted English muffin.
  6. Chill the rest of chickpea mixture away and save for the evening snack for you & husband.
