Ingredients

1/2 creal butter

3/4 ckaro corn syrup- this brand works best

1 cbrown sugar, packed

1 cpecan nut pieces

1 calmond nut pieces
-
12 ozpkg. corn chex cereal or a little of all three cereals

12 ozpkg. rice chex cereal or wheat chex
How to Make Holiday Caramel Snack
- Heat oven to 275^. Spray a large roasting pan or 2 large baking pans with non stick butter spray.
In a medium size saucepan, mix butter, corn syrup, and brown sugar. and cook over medium heat until butter and sugar melts.Bring mixture to a boil and boil for 1 minute. Remove from heat. - Place remaining ingredients in the prepared roasting pan.
Pour the butter mixture evenly over the cereal and nuts and mix gently until the cereal and nuts are evenly coated. Bake in the oven for 55-60 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes. Remove from oven and set aside to cool. As the snack mix is cooling, and this is very important- be sure to continue to stir so that the mix will be separated and not harden into one big lump.
I usually separate it into a few smaller pans. to cool better.
