Stir Fried Bok Choy is an easy healthy side dish that is prepared in about ten minutes. Even my picky son loves this dish. Adjust the spice to your liking and feel good about feeding your family wholesome natural ingredients.

  • 1 Tbsp
    sesame seeds
  • 1 Tbsp
    canola oil
  • 1 Tbsp
    grated fresh ginger
  • 1
    medium onion chopped
  • 1
    1 large head bok choy (see notes)
  • 2 clove
    garlic minced
  • 1/4 tsp
    crushed red pepper (to taste)
  • 1 Tbsp
    soy sauce

How to Make Stir Fried Bok Choy


  1. Toast the sesame seeds in a dry skillet over medium heat until light browned; approximately 2-3 minutes. Toss or stir frequently to keep from burning. Remove and place in a small bowl.
  2. Heat canola oil in the same skillet over medium high heat. Add the ginger, onion and bok choy. Cook for 2-3 minutes stirring frequently. Add the garlic, red pepper and soy sauce and cook for additional 1 minute. Sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds and serve immediately.
  3. NOTES
    Remove the bottom 2 inches of the thick bulb. Chop the bok choy and rinse thoroughly in a colander. Shake as much of the water out as possible. Dry excess water with a paper towel. See more notes under How do you prepare bok choy for cooking?
