- 1/3 pound bacon
- 1/3 cup reserved bacon grease
- 2/3 cup thinly sliced onion
- 4 cups cooked green beans, well drained
- 2 tablespoons wine vinegar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1/2 cup chopped salted peanuts
How To Make southern green beans

Step 1Slice bacon into 1/3-inch pieces. Cook over medium heat until crisp. Drain bacon on paper towers. Reserve 1/3 cup bacon grease in skillet. Saute onion until golden. Add green beans, vinegar, salt and pepper. Simmer about 5 minutes. Add bacon bits and peanuts, serve at once. Makes 8 servings.
