1PREP/PREPARE
-
2Gather your Ingredients (mise en place).
-
3Wash and peel the carrots, and cut on the bias into 1/4 inch (.6cm).
-
4Chef’s Note: If you thoroughly wash the carrots, you do not need to peel them. That makes the carrots more rustic.
-
5Place the carrots into a pan, and add about 1/2 cup water.
-
6Bring the pan to a boil over medium-high heat.
-
7Reduce the heat to medium-low, cover the pan, and cook for 6 – 7 minutes.
-
8Remove the cover, and add the butter.
-
9Continue to stir until the remainder of the water evaporates, about 1 – 2 minutes.
-
10Remove from heat and season with some salt, pepper, and caraway seeds.
-
11PLATE/PRESENT
-
12Sprinkle on some chopped parsley (if using), and serve as a side with your favorite foods. Enjoy.
