1 mdhead of napa cabbage

olive oil, as needed

salt, kosher variety, to taste

black pepper, freshly ground, to taste

crumbled cheese, or parmesan

How To Make side essentials: savory baked napa cabbage

1PREP/PREPARE

2Gather your ingredients (mise en place).

3Place a rack in the middle position, and preheat the oven to 400f (205c)

4Cut the cabbage into 1/2-inch (1.2cm), and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.

5Drizzle with a bit of olive oil, about a teaspoon.

6Sprinkle on a bit of salt and pepper, to taste.

7Place into the preheated oven, and bake until the edges begin to brown, but not blacken, about 25 – 30 minutes.

8Remove from the oven, and allow to rest for 2 – 3 minutes.

9Chef’s Tip: The crispy bits are the absolute best, so try to get as much crispy cabbage as you can, without burning it.

11Place on the plate whole, or make it rustic. Drizzle on a bit of vinegar, toss on a bit of cheese (I am thinking feta). Enjoy.
