How To Make side essentials: savory baked napa cabbage

  • 1
    PREP/PREPARE
  • 2
Gather your ingredients (mise en place).
  • 3
Place a rack in the middle position, and preheat the oven to 400f (205c)
  • 4
Cut the cabbage into 1/2-inch (1.2cm), and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  • 5
Drizzle with a bit of olive oil, about a teaspoon.
  • 6
Sprinkle on a bit of salt and pepper, to taste.
  • 7
Place into the preheated oven, and bake until the edges begin to brown, but not blacken, about 25 – 30 minutes.
  • 8
Remove from the oven, and allow to rest for 2 – 3 minutes.
  • 9
Chef’s Tip: The crispy bits are the absolute best, so try to get as much crispy cabbage as you can, without burning it.
  • 10
    PLATE/PRESENT
  • 11
Place on the plate whole, or make it rustic. Drizzle on a bit of vinegar, toss on a bit of cheese (I am thinking feta). Enjoy.
