rahmspinat/german creamed spinach
a recipe by
This recipe comes from my great grandmothers from Austria. Growing up this was how our spinach was always served and still is to this day. Kids who normally will not touch spinach on their plate will surprise you normally by eating this one! My son is not a spinach lover at all, but will eat spinach as long as its cooked like this.
Ingredients For rahmspinat/german creamed spinach
3 boxfrozen spinach
1/2 lbsliced bacon
salt and pepper to taste
How To Make rahmspinat/german creamed spinach
1Boil spinach and drain reserving some of the liquid.
2Dice Bacon and cook until nicely browned.
3Add flour to the bacon drippings. Stir and cook a few minutes.
4Add spinach and a little reserved liquid to the bacon and spinach mixture. Cook until creamy. If the mixture seems to be too dry (not creamy) add a little more reserved liquid (a little at a time) until it gets creamy.
