head of cabbage, cored, cut into 6 wedges
1 large
onion, thinly sliced
1 large
green bell pepper, thinly sliced into rings
1 Tbsp
2 Tbsp
28 oz can whole tomatoes, drained, broken up
1/8 tsp
each salt & pepper
1 c
reduced-fat, shredded cheddar cheese.

How to Make New England style cabbage


  • 1Heat oven to 350. Spray a 9" x 13" baking pan w/ cooking spray.Place cabbage in lg pot, add 1" salted water. Cover, boil 10 mins.
  • 2In lg saucepan over medium heat, cook onion, green bell pepper, sugar and butter until veggies are tender. Stirring constantly. Stir in tomatoes, salt and pepper.
  • 3Drain cabbage and place evenly in pan. Pour veggie mix over cabbage.Sprinkle cabbage and veggies w/ cheese. Bake about 25 min, or until heated through.
