Ingredients
- 1 kilogram head of cabbage, cored, cut into 6 wedges
- 1 large onion, thinly sliced
- 1 large green bell pepper, thinly sliced into rings
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 - 28 oz can whole tomatoes, drained, broken up
- 1/8 teaspoon each salt & pepper
- 1 cup reduced-fat, shredded cheddar cheese.
How To Make new england style cabbage

Step 1Heat oven to 350. Spray a 9" x 13" baking pan w/ cooking spray.Place cabbage in lg pot, add 1" salted water. Cover, boil 10 mins.

Step 2In lg saucepan over medium heat, cook onion, green bell pepper, sugar and butter until veggies are tender. Stirring constantly. Stir in tomatoes, salt and pepper.

Step 3Drain cabbage and place evenly in pan. Pour veggie mix over cabbage.Sprinkle cabbage and veggies w/ cheese. Bake about 25 min, or until heated through.
