This is my Aunt Ginnys recipe for candied yams. It was always a hit during the holidays

Ingredients
- 6 large yams, quartered or a lg can of yams
- 1 stick real butter
- 1 bottle pure maple syrup (the real deal)
How To Make maple candied yams

Step 1If using fresh yams, peel quarter and pre cook in pot of water.

Step 2Melt butter into frying pan.

Step 3Place yam pieces in butter and allow to simmer for 5 to 10 minutes.

Step 4Turn heat to low medium, enough to allow bubbling. Pour maple syrup over yams and cook for approximately another 10 minutes or more until you have a good coating on yams.

Step 5Pour syrup and yams in serving dish and serve with entree of choice. Enjoy!
