debs easy cole slaw

This is my super easy recipe for Cole Slaw. It never fails and everyone loves it.

Ingredients

  • 6-8 cups finley shred cabbage ( 1 head of cabbage)
  • 1 - small onion finely grated
  • 2-3 - carrots, grated
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • DRESSING
  • 1 cup hellman's mayonnaise
  • 4 tablespoons white sugar
  • 4 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • - salt and pepper to taste
  • - celery seed, to taste

How To Make debs easy cole slaw

  • Step 1
    Place your shredded cabbage in a colander. Sprinkle with the 2 t salt and let sit for 1/2 hour. Then with your hands, squeeze out as much water as you can from the cabbage.
  • Step 2
    Mix in the onion and carrot.
  • Step 3
    To make the dressing: Mix all dressing ingredients until smooth. Add to the above mixture and mix well. You can add any other favorite ingredients you like.
  • Step 4
    Cover and refrigerate at least a few hours. Over night is even better.
