Cabbage Essentials: Honey Mustard Coleslaw

Easy/Peasy to assemble, this coleslaw is more sweet than savory. I love it on a burger, chicken-fried steak, or as a side for a nice fried piece of fish.

  • 1/2 small
    napa cabbage, thinly sliced
  • 1 medium
    carrot, grated
  • 1/4 c
    mayonnaise, plain variety
  • 1 Tbsp
    brown mustard, i prefer grey poupon
  • 1 Tbsp
    sweet clover honey, or more to taste
  • 2 tsp
    lemon juice, freshly squeezed
  • 1 tsp
    lemon zest, freshly grated
  • 1/2 tsp
    celery seeds
  • 1/2 tsp
    poppy seeds
  • 1 - 2 pinch
    black pepper, freshly ground

How to Make Cabbage Essentials: Honey Mustard Coleslaw


  2. Gather your ingredients (mise en place).
  3. Add all of the ingredients together in a bowl, then cover with a piece of cling wrap.
  4. Place in the fridge for 2 hours, before serving.
  6. Hey, it is cabbage… use it to top a burger, or as a side for a nice fried piece of fish. Enjoy.
  7. Keep the faith, and keep cooking.
