After making and tasting mom's hotdog onions, I knew they'd go with the asparagus tips I was also cooking that day. I'd used a Turkish pepper sauce which gave it a mellow spiciness, and thought of how well sweet goes with spice. I wound up chopping several dried apricots into the mix and was very pleased with the result!

chili sauce
garlic powder

How to Make Asparagus Tips & Mom's Hotdog Onions Recipe

Step-by-Step

  • 1Coat skillet with olive oil
  • 2Chop or slice onions (whichever you prefer) add to skillet with chili sauce - sprinkle garlic powder to taste - cover and simmer
  • 3while onions are simmering wash asparagus tips - add tips to onions in skillet - cover while apricots are being chopped - add apricots - toss mixture occasionally until everything is tender
  • 4Enjoy!
