When grilling up all those lovely summer veggies why not try adding a sweet onion vinaigrette for a nice change.
** Prep time includes the 1 hour stand time for the vinaigrette, which is a must so that the flavors blend.

  • 1/4 c
    lemon juice
  • 1/4 c
    white wine vinegar
  • 1/4 c
    basil, fresh, chopped
  • 3 Tbsp
    olive oil, extra virgin
  • 1 Tbsp
    dijon mustard
  • 1/2 tsp
  • 1/2 tsp
  • 1/2 tsp
    black pepper
  • 3 clove
  • 1
    large sweet onion, cut into 1/2" slices

How to Make Sweet Onion Vinaigrette


  1. In food processor puree everything but the onion. Pour into a bowl and let stand at room temperature for 1 hour so that flavors blend.
  2. In mean time grill onion slices.
  3. Add onion slices to vinaigrette and serve at room temperature over grilled veggies.
