I first ate Broccoli Salad at the Piccadilly Cafe in Nashville, TN. Honestly never even heard of it till then. I feel in love with it and have loved it ever since. So I made it for my family over the holidays one year and they absolutely loved it! Gobbled it all up! It's sweet, juicy and crunchy! Delicious!

There's no limit to what you can put in it. Fruits and veggies preferred but can add meats if you like it like that. This is wonderful with crumbled bacon!

Ingredients

SALAD

3 bunch
brocolli florets
1/4 c
roasted almonds (any type of nut you like)
1/4 c
diced onion (any color)
1/2 c
shredded cheese (any flavor)
1 c
raisins (any color or cranraisins)

SAUCE

1 c
mayonnaise
3 Tbsp
apple cider vinegar
1/4 c
sugar

Step-By-Step

1BROCCOLI
Rinse and cut off florets (discarding stems) and place florets into large bowl with top.
2ONION
Small onion will do. Only need 1/4c diced. Place in bowl with broccoli.
3ALMONDS
I cracked and roasted my own but you can use store bought if you prefer. I pan roasted my almonds in a teaspoon of bacon grease.
I also used a food processor to chop them up a little finer for more thorough flavor. Be creative. Once prepared the way you like, place in bowl with broccoli and onion.
4RAISINS
De clump or separate raisins from themselves and place in bowl with broccoli.
5SAUCE
In another large bowl, add and mix together the mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar and sugar.
6Now pour your sauce over your broccoli salad mix and toss or you can put the lid on and shake it all up.
7Place in fridge for at least two hours and then serve.
