Ingredients

8 slice
bacon, cut into small strips
4 Tbsp
sugar
1 tsp
salt
1/2 tsp
pepper
1 c
white vinegar
6
green onions, thinly sliced
1 large
head of cabbage, finely shredded (8 cups)

How to Make German Hot Slaw

Step-by-Step

  • 1Fry the bacon till crisp and remove and drain on paper towels.
  • 2Combine sugar, vinegar and salt and stir until dissolved, cooking briefly.
  • 3Pour the hot vinegar mixture over the cabbage.
  • 4Stir in the bacon and top with green onions.
