Ingredients

  • 8 slice
    bacon, cut into small strips
  • 4 Tbsp
    sugar
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 1/2 tsp
    pepper
  • 1 c
    white vinegar
  • 6
    green onions, thinly sliced
  • 1 large
    head of cabbage, finely shredded (8 cups)

How to Make German Hot Slaw

Step-by-Step

  1. Fry the bacon till crisp and remove and drain on paper towels.
  2. Combine sugar, vinegar and salt and stir until dissolved, cooking briefly.
  3. Pour the hot vinegar mixture over the cabbage.
  4. Stir in the bacon and top with green onions.
