Ingredients

  • 8 slices bacon, cut into small strips
  • 4 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 cup white vinegar
  • 6 - green onions, thinly sliced
  • 1 large head of cabbage, finely shredded (8 cups)

How To Make german hot slaw

  • Step 1
    Fry the bacon till crisp and remove and drain on paper towels.
  • Step 2
    Combine sugar, vinegar and salt and stir until dissolved, cooking briefly.
  • Step 3
    Pour the hot vinegar mixture over the cabbage.
  • Step 4
    Stir in the bacon and top with green onions.
