Ingredients

  • 10 cups small fresh brussels sprouts
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup red wine vinegar
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon salt

How To Make easy holiday tangy brussels sprouts

  • Step 1
    Peel off 2-3 dark outer leaves of each brussels sprouts. Trim ends.
  • Step 2
    In lg dutch oven, heat sugar over medium heat, until sugar starts to melt, shaking pan occasionally. Reduce heat and cook sugar until it starts to brown.
  • Step 3
    Add butter, stir until it is melted. Add vinegar, cook 1 mins. Add water and salt. Bring to a boil.Add sprouts. Return to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer, uncovered for 6 mins, or until liquid is evaporated.
