crunchy holiday stuffing
Despite the name of this recipe, it's so easy you could make it any time of year, not just for holidays. It's a bit different, in that I've never added carrots before, but why not? The crunchy onions on top give it more texture. I also added sage for flavor. Recipe & photo: French's.com 10-16-14

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter
- 1-1/2 cup chopped celery
- 1-1/2 cup chopped carrots
- 1 package (14 oz.) stuffing
- 1 can (14.5 oz.) chicken broth
- 1 cup water
- 2 teaspoons dried sage
- 2 cups french fried onions
How To Make crunchy holiday stuffing

Step 1Melt butter in a large pot. Stir in vegetables and saute for 5 minutes.

Step 2Add stuffing, broth, and water; stir until moistened. Gently stir in 1 cup onions and the sage. Spoon stuffing into 3-qt. baking dish.

Step 3Cover and bake in a preheated 350º oven for 20 minutes. Uncover, sprinkle with remaining onions, and bake 5 minutes more or until onions are golden.
