The old monthly magazine is now called Arkansas Living...but back then it was called Rural Arkansas. Here are a couple recipes from "back in the day"...? BTW...it does not say who the recipes were submitted by, so I do not know who to give credit to!!!

- FIRST RECIPE: COMPANY SPINACH
- 1/4 cup light cream
- 1/4 cup chopped onion
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1/4 cup bacon (cooked and chopped)
- 3 cups hot spinach (chopped)
- SECOND RECIPE: LEMON CARROTS
- 12 - young carrots
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- some - chopped parsley

Step 1DIRECTIONS FOR FIRST RECIPE: COMPANY SPINACH

Step 2Sauté onion in the butter, add cream, chopped bacon and spinach. Heat thoroughly. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serves 6

Step 3DIRECTIONS FOR SECOND RECIPE: LEMON CARROTS

Step 4Cook carrots in boiling, salted water until tender. Mix and heat remaining ingredients. Pour over boiled, drained, carrots. Serves 6
