artichokes in white sauce

My husband and I we both love artichokes any way it is cooked and this is our favorite recipe. We love to eat it with bread to mop up all that creamy sauce.

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil, extra virgin
  • 1/3 cup all purpose flour
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 tablespoon onion flakes, dehydrated
  • 1 - chicken bouillon cube
  • 1 package artichoke hearts, frozen
  • - salt and pepper

How To Make artichokes in white sauce

  • Step 1
    Cut the artichokes into bite size pieces and set aside. In a sauce pan over medium heat add the olive oil and the flour. stir till all is incorporated. Gradually add the water while stirring till you have a smooth creamy sauce the consistency of heavy cream.
  • Step 2
    Add the bouillon cube and onion flakes and stir till cube is dissolved. Add the artichoke pieces salt and pepper and bring to the boil, then lower the heat to low and let it simmer till the artichokes are tender, about 45 minutes. Serve with biscuits or your favorite bread.
