Okay, this is a simple one, but these potatoes go so well with pork dishes, I thought that I would throw it out there. It’s just five ingredients, but understand that since we’re not using any butter… these babies are low fat. So, you ready… Let’s get into the kitchen.

Ingredients
- 1 1/2 pounds potatoes, golden variety
- 1/2 cup low fat milk, or buttermilk
- 1 tablespoon fresh horseradish
- - black pepper, freshly ground, to taste
- - kosher salt, to taste
How To Make low fat horseradish mash potatoes
-
Step 1Start with 1.5 pounds of golden potatoes.
-
Step 2Boil the potatoes with the skins on until tender, about 30 to 40 minutes
-
Step 3Chef’s Tip: When you can insert a pairing knife into the potato without resistance, they are ready.
-
Step 4Chef’s Tip: One of the items in my test kitchen that I use quite a lot is a good potato ricer. It rices the potatoes, and removes the skins, at the same time.
-
Step 5Mash together with the remainder of the ingredients, and serve warm.
-
Step 6Chef's Note: These go really well with pork dishes.
-
Step 7Keep the faith, and keep cooking.
