I love a good hearty meal when it is cold outside, but I don’t always want to spend all afternoon in the kitchen. This is the perfect meal for that! Also it is one of my all time favorites! Thank you Moms With Crockpots!

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 package 12 oz chopped onions
  • 2 teaspoons minced garlic
  • (1) 14oz cans diced tomatoes, drained
  • (1) 16oz packages frozen peas & carrots
  • 3 tablespoons quick cooking tapioca
  • 2 teaspoons dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • (2) 24 oz packages prepared mashed potatoes or make your own

How To Make slow-cooked shepherd’s pie

  • Step 1
    Cook beef in a large skillet over medium high heat til beef is fully cooked. Transfer to slow cooker. Back in the skillet cook the onions and garlic til onions begin to soften and place those in slow cooker. Stir in tomatoes, veggies,tapoica,oregano and salt and pepper into slow cooker. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours. Top with mashed potatoes and cover for another 30 mins.
