This is yet another recipe from my mom's kitchen that was passed down through the family. Even though it is a Pesach recipe, it can be served as a great side dish.

Ingredients For momma dee's apple kugel

6 sheetmatzo

1/2 tspsalt
-
1/2 cbutter, melted
-
5 lgeggs
-
2 tspcinnamon
-
3/4 cwalnuts, chopped

3 - 4 lggranny smith apples
-
3/4 craisins
-
2 Tbspbutter, cut into bits
How To Make momma dee's apple kugel

1NOTE: This recipe is kosher for Pesach. It can be served hot or cold, as a side dish or as dessert.

2Break matzo into small pieces and soak in water until soft. Drain, but DO NOT SQUEEZE dry.

3Beat the eggs. Add salt, sugar, butter, and cinnamon. Add matzo.

4Fold in nuts, apples, and raisins. Pour batter into a glass baking dish (for best results). Dot top of kugel with butter bits.

5Bake for 45 min. @ 350 deg F (or until firm and brown). Remove and cool slightly before serving.
