microwave bread and butter pickles

These are so good and so easy (two of my favourite things!) I make a quart or two every month, especially during the summer.

Ingredients
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon turmeric, ground
- 1/4 teaspoon mustard seed
- 1/4 teaspoon celery seed
- 1/2 cup vinegar
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 - cucumbers, unpeeled & thinly sliced
- 1 or 2 - onions, thinly sliced
How To Make microwave bread and butter pickles

Step 1In a small bowl combine first 6 ingredients.

Step 2Mix cucumbers & onions in a large microwave-safe bowl. Pour vinegar mixture over cucumbers & onions. Microwave, uncovered, on high power 5 minutes. Stir well, microwave another 5 minutes. Cool, then pour into a quart jar and refrigerate.

Step 3Pickles are ready to eat in 24 hrs, when thoroughly chilled. Keep refrigerated. Will stay fresh for several weeks.
