I always get accused of jazzing up Bushs baked beans.. they SUCK em down. be advised .. the molasses.. can be a wee bit of a laxative.. so yes there are after effects of eating .. you know the old song we sang in school.. beans beans good for your heart............ They ate these beans.. they really are fantastic tasting thou. and I do get requests for them

Ingredients
- 10 cups water
- 2 cups dried navy beans rinsed well
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/4 cup molasses
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 6 slices raw bacon cut in peices
- 1 - onion chopped
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon clove
- 1 teaspoon ginger
- 1 teaspoon pepper
- 1 - allspice, ground
- 1/2 tablespoon nutmeg
How To Make baked beans

Step 1heat oven to 350 heat 10 cups of water and beans to boil in dutch oven.... boil uncoverd for 2 -4 minutes... mix in remaining ingredients cover and bake in oven for 4 hours...stir occasionally

Step 2add 3 more cups of water bake uncovered 2 + hours till desired tenderness and consistency.. I tend to cook them for a total of 7-8 hours..
