cinnamon apples
These cinnamon apples were always found on the table for meals and there was always a bowl in the fridge. If the kids at the table weren't eating their food and were getting told they had to eat more before leaving the table, you would see granny whispering in their ear and sneaking them an extra cinnamon apple to help the situation.

- 1 to 1 1/2 packages red cinnamon candies
How To Make cinnamon apples
-
Step 1Peel,core, and half apples. Place in large pot. Add just enough water to cover apples, add red hot candies 1 package may be enough for you if you like it alittle stronger add another 1/2 package.
-
Step 2Cook at med heat. Bring to a boil, stir and let the candy melt, cook for about another 10 to 20 minutes till your apples are as tender as you like them. We like them to be alittle firm.
-
Step 3Now grampa had a flat glass baking plate that fit down in the pot and laid on top of the apples while they cooked to hold them down in the juice so they could evenly soak up the juice. He also like to leave them on the stove with the lid on to let them rest and soak after they are done.
-
Step 4These are good warm. But placed in the fridge and chilled, leave them in the juice, they are great.
