There is no better dip then hummus. It is creamy and delicious. It can be served with pita chips, crackers, or veggies...very versatile.

Ingredients

  • 1 can garbanzo beans/chick peas (15 oz)
  • 1 - lemon
  • 4 tablespoons tahini
  • 3 teaspoons minced garlic
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt

How To Make classic hummus

  • Step 1
    Drain beans and put in food processor.
  • Step 2
    Pulse beans to begin breaking apart beans into a paste.
  • Step 3
    Add remaining ingredients. Pulse to turn into a smooth spread. Give a taste, you may want or need more tahini or garlic or salt, depending on your preference.
  • Step 4
    It may be necessary to add more olive oil to make a smooth paste.
  • Step 5
    VARIATIONS: 1.add one roasted red pepper with other ingredients and when smooth, fold in one chopped roasted red pepper. 2. add small jar of marinated artichoke heats with other ingredients 3. add 1/4 cup of calamati olives with other ingredients
