After dining at a family-owned Mexican restaurant, I realized just how nasty envelopes of taco seasoning actually were and I never bought them again. It's so easy to make your own Mexican seasoning using ingredients you already have. This is a base recipe which is wonderful because you can adjust the salt, heat and spices to give you a customized seasoning made just for your family. My recipe does not have a lot of heat.(...family preference.) Adjust chili powder or add a pinch of red pepper flakes or cayenne pepper to crank that up, if you wish.

How To Make mexican adobo seasoning, a family favorite

  • Step 1
Mix all seasonings together. I use this for all of my Mexican dishes using chicken or beef. I think it would be great on grilled fish, as well.
  • Step 2
    Store in an airtight container.
