This pasta sauce is different from any I have tried before, and when I made it the first time my husband was skeptical. He always thought that tuna and tomatoes - or tomato sauce - don't go together; that the tomatoes make seafood smell and taste more fishy. But one taste of this sauce busted this myth for him, and it is one of his favorite pasta sauces.
cook time20 Min
olive oil, extra virgin
frozen onion and bell peppers
black olives, pitted and sliced
can tomato sauce
salt and pepper to taste
How To Make
In a sauce pan over medium heat add the olive oil and garlic and stir for a minute. Add the onion and peppers and the Italian seasoning, stir and let it cook for about 5 minutes.
Add the olives and tuna, breaking the chunks of tuna to small pieces.
Add the tomato sauce, stir, bring to the boil and let it simmer for 15 minutes over low heat.
Serve over your favorite pasta topped with grated Parmesan cheese.
