This is a recipe that is combination of my maternal grandmother, paternal great great-grandmother, my dad and me. I had watched my grandmother make and can applesauce several times every summer when I stayed with her. The first time I tried to make it myself my Dad gave me some hints that he had picked up on his own, and some he had learned from his learned from his grandmother and great grandmother, so you might say that this is a five generational recipe. Let me know what you think.
