This is a nice change from canned sauces.

Ingredients

  • 1 bag fresh cranberries
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 1/2 cup apple cider
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup

How To Make fresh cranberry sauce

  • Step 1
Wash berries and remove any bad ones.
  • Step 2
In a medium saucepan on medium-low, add all ingredients, stirring gently to mix together. Allow to come to a boil, then turn down heat.
  • Step 3
Berries will pop open. Stir occasionally while cooking. Sauce will thicken slowly.
  • Step 4
Once it is about the consistency of jam, let it cool. Pour into a dish and refrigerate until ready to serve. This is a tart sauce, so if you prefer this sweeter, you will need to increase the honey or maple syrup to taste. This can be served with poultry, pork, beef or fish.
