Here is my version of the very popular Cocktail Sauce usually served with boiled shrimp. I think it's amazing and may have to make this in larger batches.

prep time 5 Min
cook time
method No-Cook or Other
yield 1 serving(s)

Ingredients

  • 6 tablespoons ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon dark brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1 - 2 tablespoons creamy horseradish (to taste)
  • 1/2 teaspoon worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon lemon juice (or more to taste)
  • dash hot sauce (red tobasco)

How To Make cocktail sauce

  • Step 1
In a small bowl combine all of the ingredients and mix well to make sure there are no lumps from the dried mustard. Start with 1 Tbsp horseradish then taste and add more if needed.
  • Step 2
Chill in refrigerator - will last several weeks.
  • Step 3
Use this in place of bottled Cocktail Sauce and always serve this with fried or boiled shrimp, raw or fried oysters, fried fish, etc.
