Here is my version of the very popular Cocktail Sauce usually served with boiled shrimp. I think it's amazing and may have to make this in larger batches.

Ingredients

Add to Grocery List

  • 6 Tbsp
    ketchup
  • 1 tsp
    dark brown sugar
  • 1/4 tsp
    dry mustard
  • 1 - 2 Tbsp
    creamy horseradish (to taste)
  • 1/2 tsp
    worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tsp
lemon juice (or more to taste)
  • dash(es)
    hot sauce (red tobasco)

How to Make Cocktail Sauce

Step-by-Step

  1. In a small bowl combine all of the ingredients and mix well to make sure there are no lumps from the dried mustard. Start with 1 Tbsp horseradish then taste and add more if needed.
  2. Chill in refrigerator - will last several weeks.
  3. Use this in place of bottled Cocktail Sauce and always serve this with fried or boiled shrimp, raw or fried oysters, fried fish, etc.
