Once again I ventured away from the traditional sauce with my marinara. The rough chop style of bell pepper adds texture your fork can grab onto providing what I say is an overall satisfying sauce. Everyone who has tasted it seems to love it and asks for more.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 c
    olive oil, extra virgin
  • 1 c
    chopped onions
  • 2 clove
    minced garlic
  • 2 can(s)
    italian stewed tomatoes
  • 6 oz
    tomato paste
  • 1 tsp
    oregano
  • 1 Tbsp
    basil, dried
  • 1/4 tsp
    black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp
    coarse sea salt
  • 1/2 c
    white wine
  • 2 c
    chopped red bell pepper

How to Make Marinara Sauce

Step-by-Step

  1. Heat Olive oil into large stainless steel pot on low. Mince onions, rough chop bell pepper, mince the garlic. Cook on low until onions are slightly translucent.
  2. Add tomato sauce, tomato paste heat on simmer. Sprinkle seasonings of Basil, salt & pepper, oregano.
  3. During final 15 minutes add white wine.
    Serve over pasta with Garlic bread.
