This easy syrup takes less than 1/2 hour to make plus boiling water bath time. It makes 4 half pints and would be a welcomed gift in any breakfast basket

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups light corn syrup
  • 1 cup maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup sugar (I used dark brown sugar)
  • 2 cups small walnut pieces
  • 1 teaspoon maple flavoring optional

How To Make maple walnut syrup

  • Step 1
    Put all but the nuts in a sauce pan and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 15 minutes or until it thinkens. add the nuts, stir and pour into clean hot 1/2 pint jars. adjust lids and Process in boiling water bath for ten minutes. Take out allow to cool. Check lids and label
  • Step 2
    To make one pint of syrup simply cut the recipe in half 3/4 cup light corn syrup 1/4 cup each water and brown sugar 1/2 tsp maple flavoring 1/2 cup maple syrup
