  • 1
    onion finely choped
  • 1/2
    green bell pepper
  • 2 tsp
    garlic minced
  • 2 c
    catsup
  • 1/2 c
    molasses
  • 2 tsp
    hot sauce
  • 2 Tbsp
    apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 c
    prepared yellow mustard
  • 1 c
    dark brown sugar packed
  • 4 Tbsp
    worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp
    liquid smoke flavoring
  • 1/4 c
    lemon juice

How to Make Kansas City Barbecue Sauce

Step-by-Step

  1. Place oil in a large non-aluminum saucepan over medium-low heat. Add onion, bell pepper, and garlic. Lightly saute until translucent.
  2. Add the rest of the ingredients and simmer for about 10 or 15 minutes.
